Garden Education

Open to the public, schools, groups and organizations can schedule classes or workshops in the garden.  Class sessions are designed to be one or two hours long. On request, classes can be specifically adapted to fit with school curricula.  We ask for a $50/hour fee for this program, although scholarships may be considered.

Subjects covered in our education program are:
Health and Nutrition
Botany Basics Part I: germination, photosynthesis, plant care
Botany Basics Part II: soils, compost, parts of a plant, harvest
Pollinators and Insects and Worms
Origin of Food
The Clothing on Your Back:
An exploration into the plants that our clothes are made from
Harvest and Eat Party!  Learn to harvest fresh garden produce and then cook up a yummy meal- right in the Garden!

7th Street Garden educators are available to teach:
Mondays 9-5:30
Wednesdays 1-5:30
Thursdays 9-12
Fridays 9-5:30
Saturdays 10:30-1
